World Intellectual Property Day 2022

The Georgia Intellectual Property Alliance (GIPA) is proud to join the IP Section of the State Bar of Georgia and the IP Section of the Atlanta Bar Association in honor of World IP Day on April 26, 2022.

GIPA fully embraces this year’s theme of “IP and Youth: Innovating for a Better Future.”  As Scott Frank, GIPA’s Chair and President explains, “We live in a knowledge economy that is fueled by innovation and creativity, a significant portion of which is coming from today’s youth.  IP plays a critical role in the knowledge economy, and GIPA is proud to work with its many constituents to raise IP awareness and education among youth to enable a better society.”  Whether it’s partnering with state and national educational institutions to teach IP to youth in K-12 or all levels of higher education, or fostering a collaborative ecosystem that allows youth to learn from personal experiences and best practices of industry leaders, empowering youth through IP remains a top priority for GIPA.

On April 29-30, 2022, GIPA and the Atlanta Bar Association will co-host the 18th Annual IP SpringPosium Conference.  This event is designed to provide young attorneys, as well as senior private-practice attorneys and IP service providers, with a convenient and affordable IP educational and networking opportunity.  Seasoned professionals will present on a variety of topics and issues impacting the IP industry.  Among those presenting will be former United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Director, Andrei Iancu, and new USPTO Director, Kathi Vidal.

It is GIPA’s shared goal with the IP Sections of the Atlanta Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia to provide opportunities, like IP SpringPosium and many others, that allow youth to emerge better connected and informed on how to further their ambitions.
