AI is already running through university research across Georgia, from materials and devices to drug discovery, diagnostics and imaging. The rules that decide whether that work survives as protectable IP are still being written, and the tools used to attack those patents later are changing just as fast.

Andy Ligotti works both ends of that problem. In this session he will walk through what is settled, what is not, and where tech transfer offices are exposed.

• Working with faculty. The questions worth asking researchers now, and how to document AI use without slowing the lab down.
